All attendees will be able to request an attendance certificate during the show.
We will have Thomas Nichols from GM in to discuss the problem with counterfeit airbags. The agenda includes:
1) Known Cases 2) Composition and Performance of Genuine OEM Airbags 3) Lab analysis of Counterfeit airbags and their deployment 4) How to identify counterfeit airbags 5) Resources & Support
When Thomas is finished, Wade Bartlett will fill the remaining time with a discussion of how the system decides whether or not to fire an airbag:
-It is a Predictive system - attempting to determine what's about to happen in the next 150ms based on the early part of the event
-Acceleration Rate of Change is called JERK
-Seatbelt status is (probably) taken into account
-The idea that "bags deploy at some speed change" is WRONG...but here's why it got talked about that way.
