11FEB Update: Still some seats left for NJAAR’s one day seminar on video analysis to be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at the Middlesex County Fire Academy.
Adam Cybanski of Gyro Flight & Safety Analysis Inc. will be presenting a comprehensive overview on extracting velocity data from videos and introducing basic capabilities for those starting out in the field. Topics will include geolocation fundamentals, photography for photogrammetry, velocity testing, matchmoving, temporal analysis, and traffic/dash/witness camera analysis. South Carolina Association of Reconstruction Specialists holds their "Southeastern Conference", which is co-hosted by IAARS. They usually have live crash testing and a barbeque cookout to die for. My advice: bring sunscreen and a golf umbrella!
IATAI's annual conference is normally held in Springfield IL in early October. Lately, NAPARS has had some affiliation with this event, including helping cover expenses for Law Enforcement attendees who haven't been to one of these conferences before. The Annual Joint Conference for 2019 will be hosted by NJAAR. Running Tue/Wed/Thu this year should help folks who need a little time to travel on Monday Friday, rather than killing your weekend!
